    “And those who commit unlawful sexual intercourse of your women – bring against them four witnesses from among you. And if they testify, then confine them to houses until death comes to them or Allah opens for them a way.” (Quran 24:4)

    The Hadiths say:

    “The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: ‘The adulterer and the adulteress, lash each of them with one hundred lashes, and do not keep them apart in the same prison.'” (Sahih Muslim)

    The punishment for Zina is determined by the Islamic legal system, or Sharia law. In most cases, the punishment is 100 lashes for unmarried people and stoning to death for married people. However, there are some mitigating factors that can reduce or even eliminate the punishment, such as if the person was forced into Zina or if they repent sincerely.
    It is important to note that Zina is not just a legal matter in Islam. It is also considered a sin against God. The Prophet Muhammad said:

    “The one who commits Zina is not a believer.” (Sahih Bukhari)

    This means that anyone who commits Zina will be punished by God in the Hereafter, even if they escape punishment in this world.
    However, Islam also teaches that God is merciful and forgiving. If someone who has committed Zina repents sincerely, God will forgive them. The Prophet Muhammad said:

    “Whoever repents of a sin is like one who never committed it.” (Sahih Bukhari)

    So, even if someone has committed Zina, they can still be forgiven by God if they sincerely repent.
