They believe that salvation is possible only through faith in Jesus’ ransom sacrifice and obedience to God’s commandments. They reject blood transfusions, celebrate the Lord’s Supper once a year, and do not observe birthdays, Christmas, or other holidays that they consider pagan. They also believe that Armageddon is near and that only faithful Jehovah’s Witnesses will survive it. They also believe that Jesus is God’s son, but not part of a Trinity, and that he began ruling as King of God’s Kingdom in heaven in 1914.
