  1. The Greatest reward of Fasting is only known by  Allah Almighty as mentioned in the hadith:

    Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (ï·º) as saying:

    “Allah the Exalted and Majestic said: Every act of the son of Adam is for him, except fasting. It is (exclusively) meant for Me and I (alone) will reward it. Fasting is a shield. When any one of you is fasting on a day, he should neither indulge in obscene language nor raise the voice, or if anyone reviles him or tries to quarrel with him he should say: I am a person fasting. by Him, in Whose Hand is the life of Muhammad, the breath of the observer of fast is sweeter to Allah on the Day of judgment than the fragrance of musk. The one who fasts has two (occasions) of joy, one when he breaks the fast he is glad with the breaking of (the fast) and one when he meets his Lord he is glad with his fast.” (Sahih Muslim, Book:13 Hadith: 212)
    while there are Rewards mentioned in several ahadees for fasting at different times such as:
    A reward for Fasting During the Month of Ramadan:
    Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
    The Prophet (ï·º) said, “He who observes fasting during the month of Ramadan with Faith while seeking its reward from Allah, will have his past sins forgiven.”(Sahih
    Bukhari and Muslim)
    A reward for Fasting during the Month of Shawal:
    Abu Ayyub (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
    The Messenger of Allah (ï·º) said, “He who observes As-Saum (the fasts) in the month of Ramadan and also observes As-Saum for six days in the month of Shawwal, it is as if he has observed As-Saum for the whole year.” (Riyadh as salihin Book:8 Hadith:264)
    A reward for fasting three days of each month:
    Abdul-Malik bin Qudamah bin Milhan narrated that his father said:
    “The Messenger of Allah used to command us to fast the three days with the shining bright nights (Al-Ayam Al-Bid), the thirteenth, fourteenth, and fifteenth.”(Sunan n Nisai, Book 22 Hadith: 2343).
    ‘Abdul-Malik bin Abi Al-Minhai narrated from his father that:
    the Prophet commanded them to fast the three days of Al-Bid. He said: “That is (equivalent to) fasting for the whole month.” (Sunan n Nisai, Book 22 Hadith 2433).
    Al- ayam Al- Bid (الأيام اليض) refers to the thirteenth, fourteenth, and fifteenth date of the Moon.
