  1. The celebration of birthdays in the Muslim community varies widely and is a matter of personal and cultural preference there are no specific religious requirment of islam regarding birthday celebrations it’s important to remember that islam is a diverse and global religion.

  2. Yes, they do, and now it’s a common practice in Muslim societies, and this implies that it’s no longer a Western practice anymore.

Yes whether Islam endorsed this practice or not, that’s a valid question. so Islam generally endorses every act that is beneficial for a doer or others.

Allah Almighty says in Quran: والعصر إن الإنسان لفى خسرإلا الذين آمنوا وعملوا الصلحت..الآية

meaning: (Everyone is in a state of loss except those who have faith and do righteous deeds, and counsel each other to hold on to truth and counsel each other to be steadfast.)

If we reflect on the birthday in and off itself, we find it yields no significant benefit for anyone, as it’s a deduction in life spam which suggests becoming more conscious about leftover life and not wasting it.

so altogether it is a pointless thing.
