These are the 6 Kalimas in English and Urdu translations with Arabic.
1- Kalimah Tayyibah
لآ اِلَهَ اِلّا اللّهُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُوُل اللّهِ
La ilaha ill Allah Muhammadur-Rasul Allah
There is no God but Allah Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah
اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں محمّدؐ اللہ کے رسول ہے
Kalimah Tayyibah is also known as the first pillar of Islam. It indicates that one completely believes in the oneness of Allah (the sole creator) and in the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), sent by Him as a messenger for humanity. This kalima serves as an initiation into accepting the Muslim faith and reciting it alone allows believers to enter the circle of Islam.
2- Kalimah Shahadat
اشْهَدُ انْ لّآ اِلهَ اِلَّا اللّهُ وَحْدَه لَا شَرِيْكَ لَه، وَ اَشْهَدُ اَنَّ مُحَمَّدً اعَبْدُهوَرَسُولُه
Ash-hadu an-La illaha ill Allahu, Wahdahu La Sharika lah, wa ash-Hadu anna Muhammadan ‘abduhu wa Rasoolu
I bear witness that no-one is worthy of worship but Allah, the One alone, without partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger
میں گواہی دیتا ہو کہ اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں وہ اکیلا ہے اسکا کوئی شریک نہیں اور میں گواہی دیتا ہو کہ محمد ﷺ اسکے بندے اور رسول ہیں
The second kalima is called Kalimah Shahadat or “Testimony of Faith”. Just like with the first kalima, one must recite this with full conviction and heart to declare their acceptance of Islam as a faith and remove any doubts they may have earlier regarding certain beliefs previously held before converting.
3- Kalimah Tumjeed
سُبْحَان الِلّه وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ وَ لآ اِلهَ اِلّا اللّهُ، وَ اللّهُ اَكْبَرُ وَلا حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ اِلَّا بِاللّهِ الْعَلِىّ الْعَظِيْم
Subhan Allahu, wal Hamdu lillahi, wa la illaha ilAllahu, wallahu Akbar. wa La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah-al ‘alii-al ‘adheem
Glory be to Allah and Praise to Allah, and there is no God But Allah, and Allah is the Greatest. And there is no Might or Power except with Allah.
اللہ کی ذات پاک ہے اور سب تعریفے اللہ کیلئے ہے اور اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں اور اللہ بہت بڑا ہے گناہو سے بچنے کی طاقت اور نیک کام کرنے کی توفیق نہیں مگر کی جانب سے جو بہت بلند اور عظمت والا ہے۔
Kalimatul Tamjeed is the third Kalima. The purpose behind saying this particular kalima is to confirm the belief in Allah being absolutely unique, without any beginning or end – something we should strive for when looking at our own lives too! The third kalima Tumjeed uses most out of the 6 kalimas just like the first one.
4- Kalima Tauhid
لا الهَ اِلَّا اللّهُ وَحْدَهُ لا شَرِيْكَ لَهْ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَ لَهُ الْحَمْدُ يُحْى وَ يُمِيْتُ وَ هُوَحَىُّ لَّا يَمُوْتُ اَبَدًا اَبَدًا ط ذُو الْجَلَالِ وَ الْاِكْرَامِ ط بِيَدِهِ الْخَيْرُ ط وَهُوَ عَلى كُلِّ شَئ ٍ قَدِيْرٌ ط
La ilaha illAllahu Wahdahu La Shareeka lahu, lahulmulk, wa lahulhamd, yuhyee wa yumeet, wa huwa hayy la yumoot abadan abada Dhul Jalaali waal Ikram beyadihi alkhayr, wa huwa ‘ala kulli Shay’in Qadeer
There is none worthy of worship except Allah. He is only One. There is no partners for Him. For Him is the Kingdom. And for Him is the Praise. He gives life and accuses death. And He is Alive. He will not die, never, ever. Possessor of Majesty and Reverence. In His hand is the goodness. And He is the goodness. And He is on everything powerful.
اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں وہ اکیلا ہے اسکا کوئی شریک نہیں، اسی کی بادشاہی ہے اور اس کے لیے تمام تعریفے ہے۔ وہ زندہ کرتا ہے اور وہ مرواتا ہے۔ اور وہ ہمیشہ کیلئے زندہ ہے وہ مرے گا نہیں عظمت اور بزرگی والا ہے ، بہتری اسی کے ہاتھ میں ہے اور ہر چیز پر قادر ہے۔
This fourth kalima encourages believers to reject disbelief or apostasy. As apostates are denied entrance into heaven according to Islamic doctrine. While affirming their devotion to only God’s laws: There is absolutely no lord apart from Allah alone. Whoever attributes such a thing upon Him becomes untrue. Whoever practices such falsehood cannot secure guidance. In other words, this recitation acts as a daily reminder that apostasy isn’t an option because the ultimate truth lies solely within submission unto only one Lord -–Allah!
5- Kalimah Astagfar
اسْتَغْفِرُ اللّهَ رَبِّىْ مِنْ كُلِّ ذَنْبٍ اَذْنَبْتُه عَمَدًا اَوْ خَطَاً سِرًّا اَوْ عَلَانِيَةً وَاَتُوْبُ اِلَيْهِ مِنْ الذَّنْبِ الَّذِىْ اَعْلَمُ وَ مِنْ الذَّنْبِ الَّذِىْ لا اَعْلَمُ اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ عَلَّامُ الغُيُوْبِ وَ سَتَّارُ الْعُيُوْبِ و َغَفَّارُ الذُّنُوْبِ وَ لا حَوْلَ وَلا قُوَّةَ اِلَّا بِاللّهِ الْعَلِىِّ العَظِيْم
Astaghfirullaha Rabbi min kulli dhanbin adhnabtahu amadan aw khata’an, sirran aw alaniyatan, wa atubuhu ilayhi min adh-dhanb illadhi a’lamu, wa min adh-dhanb illadhi la a’lamu, innaka anta allamal ghuyub, wa sattar ul’uyoubi, wa ghaffarudh dhunub, wa la hawla wa la quwwatta illa billahil ‘aliy-al ‘adheem
I seek forgiveness from Allah, my Lord, from every sin I committed knowingly or unknowingly, secretly or openly, and I turn towards Him from the sin that I know and from the sin that I do not know. Certainly You, you are the knower of the hidden things and the Concealer of the mistakes and the Forgiver of the sins. And there is no power and no strength except from Allah, the Highest, the Greatest.
معافی مانگتا ہو اے میرے اللہ ہر گناہ سے جو میں نے جان بوجھ کر کی ہے یا بھول کر کی ہے ،در پردہ یا کھلم کھلا اور میں توبہ کرتا ہو اسکے حضور میں اس گناہ سے جو مجھے معلوم ہے اور اس گناہ سے جو مجھے معلوم نہیں،بے شک تو عیبوں کو جاننے والے اور عیبوں کو چھپانے والا ہے، اور گناہوں سے بخشنے والا ہے اور گناہوں سے بچنے کی طاقت اور نیک کام کرنے کی طاقت اللہ ہی کی طرف سے ہے۔ جو عالی شان اور عظمت والا ہے۔
Kalimatu Astagfar recite when you want to seek forgiveness from Allah. In everyday life, we make thousands of sins, and the fifth kalima is best for Allah’s blessings with forgiveness.
6. Kalima Radd al Kufir
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّیْٓ اَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ اَنْ اُشْرِكَ بِكَ شَيْئًا وَّاَنَآ اَعْلَمُ بِهٖ وَ اَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِمَا لَآ اَعْلَمُ بِهٖ تُبْتُ عَنْهُ وَ تَبَرَّأْتُ مِنَ الْكُفْرِ وَ الشِّرْكِ وَ الْكِذْبِ وَ الْغِيْبَةِ وَ الْبِدْعَةِ وَ النَّمِيْمَةِ وَ الْفَوَاحِشِ وَ الْبُهْتَانِ وَ الْمَعَاصِىْ كُلِِّهَا وَ اَسْلَمْتُ وَ اَقُوْلُ لَآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَّسُوْلُ اللهِؕ
Allahuma Ini a’uthu bika min an ushrika bika shi’an wa ana a’lamu bih, wa astaghfiruka lima la a’lamu bih, tubtu anhu, wa tabar’tu min al-kufri wa ash-shirki wa al-kazibi wa al-ma’asy kulaha. Aslamtu wa ‘aamantu wa aquul: la ilaha ila Allah, Muhammad rasulu Allah
O Allah, I seek refuge with You from associating others with You while knowing. I seek Your forgiveness for that of which I do not know. I repented against that, I disavowed myself of disbelief, polytheism, lying and sins, all of them. I submit myself to You and believed in You. I say: there is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah
آے اللہ میں پناہ مانگتا ہو اس بات سے کہ میں کسی شے کو تیرا شریک بناو جان بوجھ کر،اور بخشش مانگتاہو میں تم سے اس کام کی جو میں جانتا نہیں ہواور میں نے اس سے توبہ کیا اور بیزار ہوا کفر سے، شرک سے، اور جھوٹ سے، اور غیبت سے، اور بدعت سے ، اور چغلی سے ، اور بے حیائی سے، اور بہتان سے اور تمام گناہو سے اور میں اسلام لایا اور میں کہتا ہوکہ اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں اور محمد ﷺ اللہ کے رسول ہے۔
Last but certainly not least, comes to the sixth Kalima known as ‘Kalimatu Rad Al Kufir ‘ or ‘rejecting disbelief’. It expresses only and total faith in Allah first and foremost above all. Also, six kalimas is declaring to avoid sinful acts and satanic deeds.
