There are four sunnah muakkadah before zuhr.
The number of Sunnah (voluntary) units of prayer before the Zuhr (noon) prayer can vary depending on the school of Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh) that one follows. Here are the two common opinions: Two Rak’ahs (units): In the Hanafi school of thought, it is recommended to pray two Rak’ahs of Sunnah Mu’akkadah (emphasized Sunnah) before the obligatory Zuhr prayer. Four Rak’ahs (units): In the Shafi’i, Maliki, and Hanbali schools of thought, it is recommended to pray four Rak’ahs of Sunnah Mu’akkadah before the obligatory Zuhr prayer. It’s important to note that both opinions are considered valid within Islamic jurisprudence, and a person can choose to follow the practice of their specific school of thought or the one they are comfortable with. Additionally, while the Sunnah before the Zuhr prayer is highly recommended, it is not obligatory, so if circumstances prevent you from praying them, you can proceed with the obligatory Zuhr prayer.
