There are many sayings about the tree that Adam and Eve were forbidden to eat, the famous one is that it was wheat, one is about grapes, and there are also other sayings about figs, camphor, etc. But this tree is not defined by the Holy Quran and its determination is not mentioned in any authentic hadith, so according to the commentators, the best explanation is that what the Quran and hadith have left ambiguous, there is no need to define it. Rather, Allah knows best which tree it was. Also, no action or success of ours is suspended on the determination of this tree, therefore we are not obliged to do this effort. The aspects that are useful for our advice and guidance in the stories of the Prophets, peace be upon them, have been described in the Holy Quran.
