Repentance In Islam Hadith

Repentance In Islam Hadith

How can I escape from the consequences of evil? Am I defeated by these mistakes? I don’t have a direct way anymore. Prophet Adam cried for two hundred years after he was expelled from Paradise. Prophet Yunus’s moments inside the fish felt like a hundred years. Yes, the weight of mistakes may be too much to bear. Sometimes many things can be lost because of them. Even the people around us can be lost, and families can disintegrate. The consequences of our mistakes are beyond imagination and can travel in ways that we don’t know.

Umm Dardaa (RA) narrated a story about Abu Dardaa (RA). One day, he prayed the whole night and made only one dua: “Allah, improve my character.” I waited till dawn and asked him the reason. His reply was, “Oh my dear, if one’s character is good, he will bring happiness to those around him and their prayers will always be with him. But if he is bad, he will hurt those around him without even knowing it, and they will make dua against him.”

But the door of repentance and regret is always open for any one. Allah is happier when His slave repents than one who lost his camel in the desert. Think for a moment when a man cries at night and raises his hands to Allah. Imagine the sight of him approaching Him with a broken heart.

The punishments you face due to evil are never your limitations. The expelled Prophet Adam later entered Paradise with a higher position and many children with him. Your mistakes can lead you to higher positions if your heart is ready to repent.
