This is because Muslims believe that Allah (SWT) is All-Knowing, All-Seeing, and All-Hearing and therefore, Allah (SWT) knows all of our sins and secrets. Muslims are encouraged to confess their sins to Allah (SWT) sincerely, seek His forgiveness, and make a sincere intention to avoid repeating the same sin in the future.
