    In islam the biggest sin is to associate someone with Allah Almighty or ascribing partners to Almighty Allah I.e Shirk . The holy quran says ” indeed ascribing partners to allah is a grave trangression”. The holy quran also reads”Surely, Allah does not forgive that a partner is ascribed to Him, and He forgives anything short of that for whomsoever He wills. Whoever ascribes a partner to Allah commits a terible sin”.This is further proved by numerous Ahadith i.e traditions of prophet PBUH.

    Opening of a Bank Account (as such) is not prohibited in Islam. In islam what is prohibited is Riba i.e giving or taking money on interest. Since banks are the institutions that primarily deal with interest and normaly a person a deposits money in bank for interest or barrows money from bank on interest and its because of the interest baseed business of banks muslims stay away from banks. However if a bank is non-interst based like islamic banks or a person opens zero interest bank account or opens bank account to safe gaurd his money or opening of bank account is a legal or business necessity and he intends not to take the interest it is permisible to open a bank account. the answer is based on our knowlege and understanding, Allah knows better.
