In Christianity, marriage is a religious bond given by God to a man and a woman. Christian marriage can be found in the book of Genesis, where it is mentioned that God created man and woman in a relationship with each other. Therefore, a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold his wife’s hand. More references can be found in the New Testament to understand marriage according to Christianity.
Moreover, Christian marriage has multiple purposes, but its main purpose is to establish a legitimate relationship between a man and a woman. As God mentioned in Genesis 2:18, ‘It is not good that man should be alone.’ Marriage in Christianity signifies mutual support, love, and compassion.
